The Winslow House is one of the locations in the show Family Matters. It is home to Carl Winslow, Harriette Winslow, Eddie Winslow, Laura Winslow, Judy Winslow, Estelle Winslow, Rachel Crawford and Richie Crawford at various points in the show series.
Several times during the series, the Winslow house becomes too small for the number of people living in it, in what is known as the magical expanding sitcom house. At the middle of season three’s storyline, the house required 7 separate bedrooms (Harriet & Carl, Grandmother Winslow, Eddie, Laura, Judy, Rachel, and Richie). Even though it had been established that Laura and Judy shared a room, they never had a shared bedroom scene during the entire series,
The Urkel House is located next door and is home to the Urkel family. The house is an actual home located in Chicago, rather than a pre-made model, at 1516 West Wrightwood Avenue. In 2017, the house was demolished and replaced with condos. [1]
